DESIGNER MICHAEL KAMPE

Spotted by Viktor & Rolf and Diesel, the menswear designer's aesthetics have been inspired by 'exploded view drawings' and digital prints Michael Kampe didn't quite win the big prize at Trieste’s ITS#9 competition but the likes of Viktor & Rolf and Diesel’s Ronzo Rosso have been impressed by his 3D work with fabrics and denim treatments used in his 'Exploded View' collection. His aesthetics are strongly influenced by urban wear, modern art and culture amongst interesting shapes, print designs and new fabric treatments and prints. Before moving to Italy as a part of the Diesel Award, Dazed talked to the new talent, born out of the Antwerp Royal Academy. Where are you from/where you live? BEST LOOKS SS11 PARIS

Paris fashion week day one my favorite look from HAKAAN: Over at Hakaan a whitewash of clothes made up the majority of his S/S11 collection, which ranged from thigh-high body cons to floor sweeping dresses. Midriffs made a bold entrance whether exposed or lightly covered, most notably in his all-in-one with its peek-a-boo diamond middle. With dynamic lines and a glamorous feel it was no surprise that he chose Daria Werbowy to open his show, followed by the commanding Natalia Vodianova , Sasha Pivovarova and Lindsey Wixson . Hakaan Day two of Paris fashion week brought attitude in varying forms at Zac Posen , Balmain and Rick Owens . Posen’s models appeared like glamorous vamps in his boudoir-styled collection of lace, satin and feathers that came in deep reds and blacks. Pierre Balmain channelled the label’s renowned rock ‘n’ roll look: with studded biker jackets, safety pinned distressed tees, bleached jeans and laddered fishnets, models appeared rebellious and anarchic.
